Elementary Faith Formation

Elementary Faith Formation

We work in partnership with families in the faith formation of our young parishioners. We recognize that parents are the first and best educators of their children in matters of faith, therefore our K through Grade 5 program is meant to strengthen and build upon the faith formation that occurs within families.

There are 18 class gatherings lasting approximately one hour each. Please consult calendar the for specific dates and times. All classes take place at Monument Hall in Concord Center

We follow the curriculum guidelines provided by the Archdiocese of Boston. A comprehensive review of all curriculum and programs took place at Holy Family in 2014 and is annually re-considered in light of available resources and the needs of the parish.

Kindergarten: This experience will give students an opportunity to experience faith formation in a structured classroom-like environment. We use Alleu from Our Sunday Visitor. Kindergarten is optional for students and families. We try to limit class sizes to eight students, lead by two or more volunteer adults.

Grades 1-6:  Our grades one to five use  the Finding God program published by Loyola Press. We highly recommend students participate in religious education classes prior to beginning preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Class sizes are limited to 10 students in grades 1 and 2 and 12 students in grades 3-5.  Most classes are led by a volunteer catechist with a classroom aide.

Contact the Jaye Russo at religiouseducation@holyfamilyconcord.org if you would like to volunteer.
