Care for God’s Creation

Care for God’s Creation

Holy Family’s “Living Laudato Si'” Team

“On climate change, there is a clear, definitive and ineluctable ethical imperative to act.”

— Pope Francis, ENCYCLICAL LETTER,
LAUDATO SI’: ON CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME

Laudato Si’ is Pope Francis’ historic encyclical on care for creation and our common home.  It challenges us to “hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor” through ecological conversion, changes in lifestyle and society, and meaningful community engagement.

At Holy Family, this commitment is growing. It started with Helping Hands events where we’ve packaged over 50,000 meals in the past few years for the people of Burkina Faso, Africa to Fair Trade sales to a Laudato Si’ Green Fair where parishioners could learn how to help save the planet while saving money at home.

UPCOMING EVENT: Click Here to register for our next Helping hands event, scheduled for Sunday, March 24, 2019!

Next we’ll be focusing on energy efficiency at Holy Family which will include enhanced recycling plans, an energy audit for all parish properties and utilization of green design and materials in the planned construction between the Rectory and Monument Hall.
